Read these FAQ before you bring Fido to our pet lodge in Houston, TX

Ready to drop your four-legged friend off at Memorial Pet Lodge? Take a look at our frequently asked questions and answers before you arrive at our dog daycare facility in Houston, TX. If you have any further questions about our dog daycare or dog boarding services, you can call our office directly at (281) 501-0926.

  • Are there any restrictions?

We require that you provide updated vaccine records for the pet you plan on registering. We follow a rigorous flea and tick protocol, if your pet arrives with fleas they will immediately be treated and shampooed. A fee will be assessed to your account. We do not allow animals that exhibit aggressive behavior toward our staff members.

  • What if my pet has a veterinary appointment to get to while in our care?

We provide Pet Taxi services to be booked in advance. Your pet will be driven in style to their appointment, where we'll wait and then bring them back to our lodge afterward. See our Pet Taxi section for more information.

  • Are reservations required for daycare and boarding?

Yes. This is to ensure we have verified vaccines and discussed your pet's behavior with you prior to check-in day. See our Reservations section to learn more.

  • Can I have a tour of the resort?

Yes! We would love to show you around and introduce you to our staff members. You can schedule a tour of our facility by contacting our office directly.

  • What are the safety policies?

Safety is our top priority! See Daycare and Boarding Agreement and General Information under Client Forms.

  • Can I bring my own food?

Yes. We ask that you bring your pet's food when you drop them off for dog boarding because they're happier and healthier when they stick to their usual diet.

  • What vaccines are required?

See Required Vaccines under Client Forms.

  • What if my dog is aggressive?

Aggression toward staff members is not tolerated because it prevents them from providing proper care for your dog. If your dog is dog-aggressive, they'll have playtime with staff members instead of group play with our doggie guests.

  • How long will it take to groom my dog?

Grooming can take anywhere from one to four hours depending on the size and breed of your dog.

  • How do I effectively use treats?

Use treats only when your pet is exhibiting what you consider "good behavior" such as staying calm when guests arrive at your door.

  • Do you have gourmet dog treats?

Yes! We only provide the tastiest gourmet treats for our precious pets! Some brands we love include Bocce's Bakery, Nudges and American Journey.

  • What size room should I book for dog boarding?

We recommend that dogs larger than 35 pounds stay in the Cottage or a larger room.

  • How much does a typical shave cost?

This can vary depending on the size and breed of the dog, but typically ranges from $45 to $145.

  • Does clipping a dog's nails hurt them?

We use the utmost care and precision when clipping your dog's nails. This is a sensitive area for some pups, but when it's done correctly it won't hurt them.

  • How often should I give my pet treats?

All the time! If you have an active pet, you can give them treats at least once a day as a reward for good behavior (or just because they're cute). For older, more sedentary pets, you may consider limiting quantities or even purchasing smaller doggie treats with fewer calories.

  • What pest control products are used at Memorial Pet Lodge?

The health and well-being of our furry guests, as well as our staff members, is of the upmost importance. That’s why we only allow highly effective natural products that smell great and keep all the bugs, pests and parasites away. For an ingredient list or to know more about the 100% natural pest control used at our facility, please reach out by phone or email.
